Pamela Anderson request to Manmohan Singh for PETA: Pamela Anderson, who is set to enter the Bigg Boss house this week, is an ardent supporter of animal rights.
The Baywatch bombshell is an active member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Even before her entry into Bigg Boss, she has reportedly urged Indian Prime Minister to boycott all leather products through a letter in which she writes: “I am calling on person in India and throughout the world to join me in rejecting all leather products in order to help put an end to animal suffering. I am asking every individual never to buy leather shoes, bags, jackets, belts or anything else made of animal skin.”
On several occasions Pamela has energetically endorses causes for protecting animal rights. Her latest PETA ad in which she posed nude was a subject of controversy.
In the letter, Pamela said that the government needs to be proactive in ensuring the rights of the animals.
“Illegal slaughterhouses operate with impunity throughout the country and municipal slaughterhouses have failed to follow the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. The government has also failed to set up any effective scheme whatsoever to address this crisis,” the Baywatch star said.
