Kajol very happy after Padma Shri: She has been honoured with Padma Shri now and Bollywood actress Kajol, who is among this year’s recipients of the India’s fourth highest civilian award, is on top of the world.

"It’s an honour and a pleasure when you are selected for the Padma Shri and I thank all those who thought me worthy of it. I am very, very happy with the way this year has started," Kajol told us.

The actress started her cinematic journey at a young age of 17 with “Bekhudi”, but got commercial success with her second movie “Baazigar”. Her hit pairing with her good friend, superstar Shahrukh Khan in films like “Karan Arjun”, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” and “My Name Is Khan”, continued to work through her career.

Born to actress Tanuja and late Bengali filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, the 35-year-old is known for her versatility and natural flair for acting.

She is married to Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan and they have two children. Kajol was last seen in “We Are Family” and “Toonpur Ka Superhero”.

Kajol to play a lead with her Mother: It was 18 years ago that actress Kajol shared the screen space with her mother Tanuja in the 1992 film Bekhudi.

The mother-daughter duo would reprise their real life roles in Ajay Devgan’s home production Toonpur Ka Superhero. Ajay is also playing the male lead in the film along with Kajol. The couple had previously teamed up in Devgan’s directorial debut U Me Aur Hum.

The film will also have a lot of animation work.

Ajay, who plays a superhero, is apparently making this picture for his seven-year-old daughter Nysa. Kajol also gave birth to a boy a few months back.

Shah Rukh Khan, who has worked with Kajol in hit films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and My Name is Khan, tweeted minutes ago:

The couple has a seven year old daughter named Nyasa born April 20, 2003.

So I was basically telling her to give an expression which depicts that her character is low on energy, pale and just then comes to terms with the fact that her kids are watching her. We shot this scene much before the climax and other scenes were shot."

Kajol, who came back after her marriage with Fanaa, My Name Is Khan and is ready with another release in We Are Family, said that she is aware of her age and would not take up roles that require her to enact a 16-year-old girl. The positive aspect is that she is enjoying the kind of roles she has been enacting of late.

She said that she is an instinctive person and not a planner. She would rather do what she feels is right than try to live up to the expectations of the people. She added that her priorities changed after marriage.

Well, Kajol fans can see her again on the big screens when We Are Family, directed by Sidharth Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar, hits the theatres on August 3. The film also has Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles.
