Box Office Report: 'No Problem' & 'Band Baaja Baaraat's interesting weekend

Box Office Report: 'No Problem' & 'Band Baaja Baaraat's interesting weekend: No Problem and Band Baaja Baaraat witnessed a downtrodden opening at the crate office but in the weekend both the films beat out preferable interest. As the assessments are handy for Band Baaja Baaraat, the film is looked for to admission well in nearing days.
Though Band Baaja Baaraat opened to a downtrodden 15 20% acknowledgement it picked up over on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday it did Rs 1 crore approx interest, on Saturday it was Rs 1. 75 crore and on Sunday it administered Rs 2. 50 crore. The weekend downright was Rs 5. 25 crore approx.

No Problem too witnessed a dull opening, the movie picked up on Saturday at multiplexes and Sunday was also better. It collected Rs 4.25 crore approx from Friday, Rs 5 crore approx from Saturday and Rs 6.25 crore approx from Sunday. The weekend total was nearly of Rs 15.50 crore approx. But as the movie’s reviews are bad it’s unlikely to do better in coming days.

Coming to past releases, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey had only Rs 4.75 crore approx in week one and is reportedly out from most of the theatres in week two. The movie is declared a disaster. Rakht Charitra 2 also joined the KHJJS league, the movie is a big flop with just Rs 2.75 crore approx business in week one.

Phas Gaye Re Obama grossed nearly Rs 2.25 crore approx in its first week. The film was steady on its weekdays, thanks to good reviews, but has limited screen space because of recent releases.

Box Office Report: Band Baaja Baaraat and No Problem badly open

Box Office Report: Band Baaja Baaraat and No Problem badly open: The lull which set in with the tanking of films like Guzaarish and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey continues this week as the two new releases, No Problem and Band Baaja Baaraat, fail to get expected footfalls in theatres.
No Problem, which has a huge cast and a director with a record of giving hits, opened to a 30 to 40 percent response at theatres. The footfalls in single screen theatres were much better than in multiplexes. The film has been panned by the critics and the negative word of mouth won’t do much to lift it up in the coming days.

On the other hand, YRF’s Band Baaja Baaraat, got rave reviews but opened very dull at box office. The film witnessed just 15 to 20 percent occupancy. Due to positive reviews and word of mouth it might pick up in the coming days.
The last week’s releases Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey can now be labelled as a flop. The film has just made a paltry Rs. 4.75 crore nett in its first week and is already off many theatres.

Rakht Charitra - 2 fared even worse. It just made a miniscule Rs 2.25 crore nett in its first week.

No Problem Review - Anil Kapoor's latest film

No Problem Review - Anil Kapoor's latest film: It’s more obnoxious than the thunderous fart of a gorilla! Mercifully, I haven’t been at the receiving end of one (so far), but having watched director Anees Bazmee’s latest claptrap called No Problem, I almost know how it feels like to be blown away by something as malodorous as an ape breaking wind.
Comedy - no, attempted comedy - plumbs to a new low in No Problem, and partners in this cinematic crime are as much the film’s leading stars as its overconfident director. Success shoots faster than champagne to some folks’ heads and No Problem indeed has Bazmee smugly reminding us that he is the man who’s given Bollywood comedies like No Entry, Welcome and Singh Is Kinng - as if they all were masterpieces.

In No Problem the director falls back on the same formula and cobbles together a threadbare plot, with an eye solely on making the audiences laugh any which way. So if it calls for a schizophrenic wife (Sushmita Sen) to love her hubby one moment and bay for his blood the next, so be it! If it calls for usual oddballs like a kleptomaniac thief (Sanjay Dutt), his reformed partner (Akshay Khanna), a reluctant hanger-on (Paresh Rawal), a bumbling cop (Anil Kapoor), his psycho wife (Sush), her vain sister (Kangana Ranaut), and a bunch of gun-toting robbers lead by the unshaven Sunil Shetty and his hideously dressed moll (Neetu Chandra), so be it. Bazmee grinds every grist in the mill to get laughs from you. He sets out to outdo his previous works, but only undoes them.

In case you care to know the story, rest assured there isn’t one to write about. The aforementioned circus of characters is vying to get their hands on a bunch of diamonds in South Africa. Gangsters, cops, thieves and their girlfriends - all are involved in the ruck. A mad melee follows in the end, with a gorilla stepping in for the cameo fart and the fish swallowing the diamonds.

Which brings us to the performances. Save for the gorilla and the fish, everyone’s over the top. Anil Kapoor is hung up on his mitti daal dialogue and does provide a laugh here and there, while Akshaye hams more often than not. Sanjay Dutt looks plainly uninterested and Sush is an image of overacting. Paresh Rawal plays to the gallery, so does Vijay Raaz in a brief role. Kangana’s botoxed lips catch your eye as much as Neetu’s waxed thigh.

Final word! If you have mistakenly watched this film and liked it, there’s a serious problem with you.

Sushmita Sen to play as split personality in 'No Problem'

Sushmita Sen to play as split personality in 'No Problem': A psycho wife who suffers from split personality and itches to kill her husband. That’s the role Sushmita Sen plays in the upcoming comedy No Problem.
In the movie directed by Anees Bazmee, Sush is married to Anil Kapoor, who plays a bumbling police officer, never able to catch criminals.

In an agency interview, Anil Kapoor says he found Sush’s role somewhat bizarre.

“I thought that this entire split personality thing about Sushmita's character was a little bizarre. There aren't many comedies where you hear about a wife trying to kill her husband. In 'No Problem', her mental disorder makes her all violent and physical,” says Kapoor.

Speaking about Sush’s character, Anil added that he convinced himself that the character would eventually work to the film’s advantage.

“She gets into such a state because before marriage, she thought of me as a hero, only to realise later that I am actually a zero. She bashes me up every now and then. But initially, I had to convince myself that such scenes would work fine for the movie,” Kapoor added.

The actor said Bipasha Basu and Lara Dutta were in the race for the role but director Anees Bazmee convinced him to cast Sushmita.

“There were number of names that were thought of for a woman to play a lead opposite me. We thought of Lara (Dutta) as well as Bipasha (Basu) but Anees was convinced that Sushmita would suit the role best,” Kapoor said.

The film is a multistarrer featuring Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal, Sunil Shetty, Kangana Ranaut and Neetu Chandra. It is slated to release on December 10.
