The star will step inside the Bigg Boss house in Lonavala for the special Diwali episode. He will spend the festive day with the housemates. The actor, who took over as a host of 'Bigg Boss 4' from Amitabh Bachchan, will add some spice to the show on Diwali.

Even as tension runs high about who would be evicted from the house next, Salman's visit has come as a relief to the residents as there wouldn't be any eliminations this week owing to his special appearance.

Not everyone in the Bigg Boss house is treated so favorably.

But because of space problems in the house, much gym equipment had to go back to Salman. Kali can’t have everything.

Going by the opening, the first day of KBC 4 topped the list of best opening shows with 6.2 TVRs (television viewership ratings). Earlier, the record of best opening was with Khatron Ke Khiladi 3 which had Priyanka Chopra as the host. If Bigg Boss 4 had an opening of 4.8 TVRs, the Akshay Kumar show Master Chef on Star Plus managed only 2.6 rating. Channel Sony Entertainment which owns KBC 4 claims that their show has got the most successful launch in recent times on Indian television.

There is no doubt that the audience loves every moment of KBC 4. The towering baritone of Amitabh Bachchan, his eloquence, and his unique style of presentation ensure a better quality Indian television in comparison to the otherwise low-grade reality shows which are rampant nowadays, and one such show is Rakhi Sawant’s Rakhi Ka Insaaf which was pitted against Akshay’s Master Chef.

As a tabloid reports, every third Indian likes to watch KBC during prime time, with the show carrying a 32 per cent reach in the four episodes of its first week run. The show’s first week average of 5.3 TVRs is also the highest for any non-fiction show recorded over the last year.

The Great Kali finally on Salman Khan's ‘Bigg Boss 4’: Finally, the 7-foot-3-inch tall wrestler The Great Khali has made his entry into ‘Bigg Boss 4’. The 190-Kg giant was welcomed into the show by the host Salman Khan.

Dressed in his usual red coloured robe with a hood, Khali made a thumping entry on stage as Salman Khan, dressed in all black, announced his name as the wild card entry into the Bigg Boss house from which two contestants have already been booted out.

In his usual Dabangg style, Salman joked with Khali about his height and weight and marvelled at his larger-than-life physique. There was dance, humour and much teasing as Salman and Khali bonded like thick pals.

Amitabh Bachchan's KBC 4 got most TRPs than Salman's Bigg Boss4: As expected, Amitabh Bachchan’s show Kaun Banega Crorepati  has grabbed maximum TRP (Television Rating Point) for any program on general entertainment channels. The fourth season of the show was launched on Monday and got 5 percent TRP, according to data provided by Audience Measurement and Analytics (aMap).

Salman Khan’s show ‘Bigg Boss’, which sees the actor’s appearance only on weekends, got 3.4 percent TRP on Monday.

Not just this, other entertainment channels like Star Plus, Zee TV and Imagine TV that telecast fiction shows during the prime time slot, too failed to match KBC with average ratings of 3.2, 2.9 and 1.1 percent, respectively.

So, the writing is on the wall. Big B rules the small screen as well.

The reason why telly viewers loved Salman Khan so much in the game show Dus Ka Dum  last year was the actor’s unpretentious straightforwardness and his disdain for glib. This year, as he hosts the fourth season of Bigg Boss, the super star promises more frankness on his part.

“The first and only lesson I have learned in acting is to be myself. Viewers will get 100 per cent unadulterated Salman Khan in Bigg Boss. I am hosting it in my own style - frank and uncut,” Salman is quoted to have said in an interview.

Talking about the housemates, Salman said that those who try to play too clever and smart will get a short end of the stick.

“I am a very straight-forward person and I will not take any hypocrisy and politics lightly. For those housemates who play clean, they will always find their best friend in me. Those who don't, be ready to expect the worst,” he said.

Salman also added that he consulted his mom before agreeing to host the show.

While there was recently a rumour that Salman’s ex flame Sangeeta Bijlani, who’s marriage with Mohammad Azharuddin is on the rocks, might be roped in for Bigg Boss 4, Salman is pretty cool about the idea of having her in the house.

In fact, in a tabloid interview when Salman was asked a hypothetical question that if his ex girlfriends Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy Ali and Aishwarya Rai were in the Bigg Boss’s house, whom would he eliminate? Salman answered that he would keep them all.

When pressed for a clear answer, Salman said: “I really, really like Sangeeta and Somy. They are my friends”.

However, Salman cleverly avoid making a mention of Ash.

The clean shaven 44-year-old star spread boyish charm dressed in faded distressed jeans and a dark gray Tee, with a blue and red plaid scarf wrapped around his neck.

The shoot was directed by Milan Luthria, who is working with Salman for the first time.

Luthria had earlier said that he wants Salman to be himself in the promos, instead of being in business suits.

Set in a harem, the video shoot featured Salman with a bevy of belly dancers, all clad in skimpy glittery cholis and low slung harem skirts with multiple full length slits, but Salman didn't seem to notice the skin fest around him.

Salman's sister, Alvira Khan, and Dabangg designer, Ashley Rebello, will be styling Salman for the show, for which Colors TV has yet to announce a launch date.

The promos for the show were launched on September 6 during the screening of Priyanka Chopra hosted Fear Factor.
