Box Office Report: No One Killed Jessica vs Tees Maar Khan

Box Office Report: No One Killed Jessica vs Tees Maar Khan: The year’s first major release hasn’t disappointed the cine-goers. No One Killed Jessica took a slow start at the box office with 30-35% occupancy on its first day, but revved up and saw a good weekend business of Rs 12.50 crore approx.

The movie, which is based on the Jessica Lal murder case and stars Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan, is expected to do well at the multiplexes.

As per trade reports, the movie’s Friday collection was approximately Rs 3.15 crore; on Saturday the collections jumped to Rs 4.50 crore; and on Sunday it was approx Rs 4.75 crore. So the graph is going up. Let’s see how the movie will perform in the coming days, crucial to decide its box office fate.

The other releases of the week: Impatient Vivek and Vikalp were very poor with almost zilch collections. The films will go unnoticed at the box office.

Coming to Tees Maar Khan, the movie saw a heavy drop in its second week, with around Rs 10.50 crore approx business. The film has a two-week total of Rs 59.50 crore approx which makes it a semi-hit, if not a flop. Same was the trend in the overseas market too. The movie couldn’t do well in its second weekend. The film is reportedly heading for a business of around $4 to 4.25 million (Rs 18-19 crore) from all the markets abroad.

Box Office Report: 'Tees Maar Khan' performed below expectation

Box Office Report: 'Tees Maar Khan' performed below expectation: Though Tees Maar Khan got a huge opening and collected Rs 50 crore from its first week, the collection saw a heavy drop in the second weekend. This Friday’s release Bhoot And Friends witnessed just 2-3% occupancy.

Tees Maar Khan fails to lure the masses and as a result its second weekend collection fell miserably. It collected just Rs 7.25 crore approx. As per reports, the drop from first weekend was around 80%. The film’s ten-day total collection is approximately Rs 56.50 crore.

This Farah Khan film is likely to finish its second week with around Rs 60 crore approx. The distributor share will be of Rs 35 crore approx. The movie is not a flop because of its staggering opening collection. With its second weekend collection Tees Maar Khan is the sixth biggest grosser of 2010-11, but still the movie performed below expectations. Its business is disappointing for its makers.

Toonpur Ka Superrhero and Isi Life Mein had very poor collections and are out from many theatres. Over all, a dull start for the year 2011!

Box Office Report: 'Tees Maar Khan' to get 38 crores net

Box Office Report: 'Tees Maar Khan' to get 38 crores net: In a country hooked to masala entertainers, a Farah Khan film is indeed a cinematic event, and humungous expectations were attached to her film Tees Maar Khan.

The film witnessed a good opening at box office, raking in third largest first weekend collection for any Hindi movie with the business of a little over 38 crore nett. Only two films, Dabangg and 3 Idiots boast of better first weekend collection.

Starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, TMK opened to the first day business of Rs 13 crore on Friday. It picked up marginally on Saturday, with a collection of near about Rs. 13.25 crore. The business fell on Sunday - when it should have gone up - with the film making about Rs 12 crore.

Negative reviews and word of mouth dented the movie’s collection further on Monday.

On the other hand, Ajay Devgan and Kajol’s Toonpur Ka Superrhero took a dull start on Friday but picked up slightly on Saturday and Sunday. However, the film isn’t pulling much crowd.

Normally, Christmas weekend is big for Bollywood. Since last three years, Aamir Khan has been giving hits like Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini and 3 Idiots during Xmas weekend. TMK has fallen below expectations when compared to the mammoth business that Aamir’s films did.

SRK's diplomatic response with smile about asking 'Tees Maar Khan'

SRK's diplomatic response with smile about asking 'Tees Maar Khan': Amongst all hype, all the great promotional campaigns from the choreographer turned director Farah Khan, her latest film Tees Maar Khan starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif released on the 24th of December.

The film was received with great response on day 1 at the box office but saw week fan following afterwards, besides the critics also slammed the movie.

Recently Shahrukh Khan was at a launch of an energy drink at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai where he was asked about the movie’s response.

He smiled and responded that he was so busy shooting non-stop for Ra. one that he would fall asleep at such questions. The response might be a diplomatic one but the smile on his face was enough to raise a few eye-brows.

In another incident relating to the movie, a place where film’s photos were being printed to be on the covers of Tees Maar Khan was found and the people were caught with charges of piracy against them. The matter was reported to the producers also.

Subhash K Jha talking about 'Tees Maar Khan' Movie

Subhash K Jha talking about 'Tees Maar Khan' Movie: You have to hand it to Farah Khan. The zany spirit never leaves her side. Tees Maar Khan (TMK) is a goofy oddball of a film, replete with the most outrageous takeoffs on the dreaded Hindi Film 'formula' seen in recent times.

The film, we understand, is inspired by a 1966 Peter Sellers comedy After The Fox. But the foxiness of this feisty farce comes entirely from Farah Khan's own sensibilities as a storyteller.

The laughter never deserts the belly of the plot. In TMK, she pulls out all stops to tell a tale that never grows pale under the gaze of the camera.

The plot is the kind of kinky concoction that one associates with the literature of P.G Wodehouse and the drama of Sheridan. As hard to put down on paper as it is to pin down on camera, Farah Khan manages to just about hold the myriad madcap characters into a firm comic grip. The clasp of the comic is strong and engaging.

The grin ever slips off. The spirit of a spoofy satirical homage to the larger-than-life hero-giri of the Formula Fillum never slips up. Yes, some parts of the takeoff refuses to take off. At times the storytelling becomes a casualty of its own parodic intentions. You never know when the narration slips into a parody of its own parody. That, you realize, is a part of this film's chirpychalu charm.

The energy-driven narrative propels the parody from one gag to another. The gasbag narration is never short of tricks to seduce us into a state of helpless laughter.

When the dialogues fail to lift the satire(and this fuel-shortage happens frequently), Akshay Kumar steps in to do his number. No stranger to comedy, Akshay turns in one of his zaniest performances since Priyadarshan's Hera Pheri. To say his comic timing is impeccable would be stating the obvious. Akshay just blends into the no-man's-land ambience of the film with unquestioning sincerity.

Tees Maar Khan Akshaye Khanna as the Oscar-crazy superstar comes up with a comically compelling performance. We've never seen him having so much fun before. Maybe it's the company he 'quips'. Katrina Kaif's airheaded eyelash-batting makeup-splashing item-girl act gets its rippling rhythms from her lately-honed comic aptitudes. Her 'Sheila Ki Jawani' item number which was the film's selling-point before release is performed with a gusto and elegance that could have easily overpowered the film. Happily TMK manages to hold its own right up to the crazy chaotic finale.

The plot is crammed full with empty-headed and moronic characters. Farah Khan's vibrant vision encompasses the entire gamut of giggles chuckles and guffaws in one swift confident sweep. You are hooked from the word go.

The supporting actors too furnish the hectic hilarity with enormous zaniness.Particularly notable are Aarya Babbar (fully in form as a boorish slightly dimwitted cop), Apara Mehta(endearingly nutty as Akshay's filmy mother) and Ali Asgar(as one of Akshay's sidekicks).

Tees Maar Khan is a kind of subverted homage to the cinema of Manmohan Desai. There are no lost-and-found kids in this 'ever-grin' film. But there's plenty of that spirit of daring destiny to do what it can.

Yup, MKD would've smiled on watching this one. Go for Tees Maar Khan. Ignore all the negative comments you've been hearing about. It's great unpretentious fun. To actually put so many IQ-challenged characters into an intelligent piece of comedy couldn't be easy.

So who said being the new-age Manmohan Desai was easy?

Box Office Report: Housefull opening of 'Tees Maar Khan'

Box Office Report: House full opening of 'Tees Maar Khan': Finally, ahead of Christmas, the theatres are seeing footfalls aplenty from cinegoers, thanks to Farah Khan’s latest film Tees Maar Khan.
As the initial box office reports trickle in, it’s clear that the movie starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif has opened to a huge response at ticket windows. The advance booking of the film at many urban centres has been exceptionally well, and the film opened to packed houses almost everywhere. At places the occupancy was 90 percent, but that’s as good as housefull.

Though the film hasn’t garnered very favourable reviews, it is likely see to a good weekend, considering that Saturday and Sunday are holidays, followed by the New Year’s Eve in the coming days.

Tees Maar Khan Masala Review

Tees Maar Khan Masala Review: Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om were smashing tributes to the wholesome entertainers of 1970s, Farah Khan's brand new outing Tees Maar Khan will make the most absurd, bizarre and wacky cinema of yore pale in comparison. Not just your cell phone, even your brain needs to be put on 'switched off' mode at the commencement of this film. Farah's fundas are very clear: Ask no questions and abandon all faith in logic, reason and rationale. Only then can you relish Tees Maar Khan.
Knowing Farah and her love and obsession for masala films of yore, it's foolhardy to expect thought provoking cinema from her. Tees Maar Khan belongs to the hardcore masala variety, which was savored with glee by the hoi polloi then and which continues to be hugely popular at single screens to this day. But unlike her past endeavours, Farah looks at the West for inspiration this time around.

Tees Maar Khan is the desi adaptation of Peter Sellers' 1966 Italian film After The Fox [CACCIA ALLA VOLPE], which now enjoys a cult following, but it bears the Farah Khan stamp in every frame. Like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, Tees Maar Khan is also a formula-ridden outing with tadka-maar-ke entertainment.

Creating heist films is tricky and tough. The director should ensure that action, thrills and wit are mixed and merged in right doses and Tees Maar Khan amalgamates it all with charming results, mainly in the first half. In fact, Farah's distinctive style transforms the simple premise into a truly vitalizing thriller that can be replicated, but rarely matched. She chooses to once again make a film she is most comfortable making and sticks to the staple formula of action, comedy and full-on masala. What really stands out is the relative effortlessness with which she handles the material.

On the flipside, the film slips towards the second hour. You feel that way primarily because the first hour is thoroughly entertaining with a good number of laugh-inducing sequences and three solid songs and though the second half is engaging at times, it doesn't measure up to the first half in terms of the entertainment quotient.

Final word? Tees Maar Khan is a film that will see a big divide in opinion: The masses may admire it, while the hard-nosed aficionados and connoisseurs of cinema will loathe it. For me, Tees Maar Khan worked in parts only.

Only once in a blue moon is such a great criminal born who is fearless as well as shameless! Tees Maar Khan [Akshay Kumar] steals cons and cheats all with such alarming audacity that even shame shies away from him. He and his gang comprising of Dollar, Soda and Burger have managed to keep the police, world over, on their toes.

Then one fine day international antique smugglers, the Johri Brothers, assign Tees Maar Khan the biggest con job of his life. He must rob antiques worth Rs. 500 crores from a heavily-guarded moving train. Will Khan and his gang, with some unwitting support from his wannabe-actress girlfriend Anya [Katrina Kaif] and the Oscar-greedy Bollywood superstar [Akshaye Khanna], be able to pull off this heist?

Tees Maar Khan is a crazy ride. Nearly everything in this picture is amusing, riotous and over the top. It's loaded with many laughter-inducing moments, with everyone exhibiting immaculate and faultless comic timing. The slapstick quotient is on the higher side, but there's plenty of verbal comedy as well.

Ashmith Kunder and Shirish Kunder's script wastes no time in establishing the ways and means of the heist. Once you get a hang of the goings-on, once you throw logic out of the window, there's ample pleasure to seek in this humorous entertainer which does not claim to break new ground. I'd like to make a special mention of the film's dialogue [Ashmith and Shirish], which comes across as the perfect garnish to the proceedings.

Of course, Tees Maar Khan is not without its share of slip-ups. The film gets messy in the second half, especially since Farah and her team of writers attempt to pack just about everything in this hour. Also, a couple of scenes don't register well. The sequence involving the 'headless ghost' appears futile. The heist is plain ordinary and doesn't conjure up the magic on screen. The finale in the courtroom and the premiere of the film fall flat as well. Even the comic scenes fail to evoke mirth in the latter half. The tracing-paper-thin plot comes to the fore in this half, frankly.

Talking of its soundtrack, the expectations are humungous again, since Akshay, Farah and Vishal-Shekhar team up to create a mass-friendly soundtrack. 'Sheila Ki Jawani' is highly energetic and stimulating and has already made its excessive presence felt. 'Wallah Re Wallah' is another track that stands out. The presence of Salman Khan in this number will cast a spell on viewers. The title track, repeated throughout the film, is truly wonderful. The choreography of all songs is top notch. Background score [Shirish Kunder] is apt. The review would be incomplete without acknowledging the contribution by cinematographer P.S. Vinod. The titles during the end credits are lovely.

Farah plays it smart by choosing to cast actors who fit their roles perfectly. Akshay Kumar dominates the proceedings, as always. The requirement of the role was, he has to be loud and hammy and it works well here. In this one, he is neither a nerd nor a geek; he portrays a hero and does a swell job. Akshaye Khanna springs a big surprise. Enacting the role of an Oscar-hungry superstar, the film explores the funny side of Akshaye very well. He has a substantial role, which he carries off with conviction.

Katrina looks drop dead gorgeous and scorches the screen in the 'Sheila Ki Jawani' track. In fact, she has never looked so alluring. Raghu and Rajiv are superb. Akshay's three cronies compliment each other wonderfully well. Aarya Babbar is sure to be noticed. Murli Sharma and Aman Verma's try very hard to be funny, but fail. Apara Mehta is first-rate. Sudhir Pandey is fantastic. The villagers are mere props. Sachin Khedekar and Vijay Patkar are okay. Salman Khan makes an appearance in a song [electrifying], while Anil Kapoor appears in a cameo towards the end.

On the whole, every movie buff has humungous expectations from Tees Maar Khan since it's already very high on hype. Firstly, fulfilling colossal expectations is an arduous task and over-hyping makes the task even more complex. Tees Maar Khan is more of a tribute to old-school Hindi cinema, with a fabulous first half and a strictly average second half. The Christmas weekend and vacations across the globe will ensure a record start in its opening weekend. If only its content was powerful enough, it would've truly been a tees maar entertainer!

Tees Maar Khan is a similar of an Italian comedy film

Tees Maar Khan is a similar of an Italian comedy film: The similarities are startling! Tees Maar Khan, Farah Khan’s latest film starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif is a remake of an Italian comedy film starring Peter Sellers.

In director Vittorio De Sica’s 1966 comedy film After The Fox, Peter Sellers plays the clever con man called Fox. He has three bumbling sidekicks and plans to smuggle looted gold into Europe by pretending as a film director.

In Tees Maar Khan, Akshay too plays a clever connie called Tees Maar Khan. He has three subordinates, all goofballs. Akshay also pretends to be the director of a film to rob a train.

The similarities are truly astounding. We hear that Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder have made a lot of changes in the script to Indianize the plot. But the fact remains that TMK is a remake of After the Fox and Farah Khan too has admitted it.

She says the plot of TMK is the same as that of ‘After the Fox’ but there are many changes as well.

Akshay shares titbits about 'Kat' from behind the scenes of TMK

Akshay shares titbits about 'Kat' from behind the scenes of TMK: Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif return again to the big screen this Friday with Farah Khan’s much-awaited film Tees Maar Khan. As expected, the duo had a lot of fun while shooting the film.
During the shoot of the song ‘Bade Dilwala’, a funny incident happened when Katrina accidentally hit Akshay.

“We were shooting for the song Bade dilwala and Katrina got so involved in her dance that she actually hit me hard with her elbow. The impact was such that the shooting had to be stalled for two hours,” Akshay told reporters while promoting the film in New Delhi. He was accompanied with Katrina and Farah Khan.

When asked if he isn’t worried about being typecast as a comedy hero, Akshay said he did comedies because that what audiences want to see.

“I don't think I have lowered down my experimentation level as I am only doing what the audience wants. Audience today only want full entertainment which can be provided only through comedy,” Akshay said.

To everyone’s delight Akshay and Katrina also danced to the tune of ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ at the promotional event.

“When we shoot for any song, there are often many cuts but I enjoy performing in front of live audiences because the response makes me feel good,” Akshay said after the dance.

Katrina too talked about her raunchy song in the film.

“Sheila is a character which will always remain close to my heart as compared to my earlier roles,” she said.

‘Bade Dilwala’ Tees Maar Khan video song: Katrina Kaif ka Jhatka

‘Bade Dilwala’ Tees Maar Khan video song: Katrina Kaif ka Jhatka: Katrina Kaif’s saucy moves in the song Sheila Ki Jawani is a big rage nationwide. Now, catch her dancing like never before in another song.

The actress who is often called expressionless is showing ghazab facial expressions in Tees Maar Khan. Here is another song from the movie: a visual treat for Katrina fans.

The lady has donned sexy short ghagra for this song which is shot in a village setting. Actually the song is on Akshay Kumar but Kat steals the show with her gyrations.

The duo is later seen romancing in an open field. This song is described as a spectacular “Kheiton Ka Geet” performed by none other than Akshay and Katrina and sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Sukhwinder Singh.

Katrina Kaif at 'Tees Maar Khan's Dubai Promotion - Pics

Katrina Kaif at 'Tees Maar Khan's Dubai Promotion - Pics: Katrina Kaif hit up Dubai's Park Hyatt Hotel to promote her new movie Tees Maar Khan and it looks like the trip was a success as fans gathered around the actress to get a pic.
Tees Maar Khan will release on December 24 and the filmmakers are hoping for a holiday box-office success. Apart from Kat the movie also stars Akshay Kumar and the popular jodi are confident the action comedy will please fans as they have been promoting it through audio sessions on a train and a beach concert, among other things.

Tees Maar Khan tells the story of Tabrez Mirza Khan, or TMK, an international conman described as a half Robin Hood because he steals from the rich without giving anything to the poor.

Katrina's item number "Sheila Ki Jawani" has become a hit on the charts and no wonder; its sexy lyrics are paired with Kat's hot dance moves! Farah Khan describes the song as a mix between Bollywood veteran Madhuri Dixit and R&B singer Beyonce, calling it "raunchy and erotic but not acrobatic."
Katrina takes it even further, saying "It'd be one of the raunchiest songs I have ever shot. Farah is extremely confident about the song and has promised me it will be one of the biggest hits of this year!"

We clearly see why the actress was such a hit with fans when she visited Dubai to talk about her film! Check out the pics and let us know if you think Katrina looks hot or not.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif pray for Tees Maar Khan at Golden Temple - Pics

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif pray for Tees Maar Khan at Golden Temple - Pics: The countdown to the release of Tees Maar Khan is on and its lead stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif were spotted praying for the picture's luck at the Golden Temple.
Akshay, who is a Punjabi youth, had his head blanketed with a saffron patka with the symbol of Sikhism. Katrina was truly basically dressed in a white kurta, pyjama and a dark jacket to keep afar the chill of Amritsar winters.

The duo prayed together and, accompanied by Gurudwara officials, took a round of the holy shrine.

Akshay has had a poor year this year, with all his films flopping at box office. Hope his prayers will be answered and Tees Maar Khan will set the cash registers ringing.

Katrina Kaif was alarmed to move in ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’

Katrina Kaif was alarmed to move in ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’: A lot of people in the industry who has gone with with Farah Khan knows that the woman is a sturdy disciplinarian. Naturally, the pressure was towering on Katrina Kaif while shooting Sheila Ki Jawani for Tees Maar Khan. The performer was dead panicked.
Kat is not that better than average a dance expert (judging from her prior moving numbers), and she had never done a genuine smoldering item song till now. So, before doing Sheila Ki Jawani she was panicked that Farah might scold or shout at her for not getting the strides right. Actual, the picture's lead character Akshay Kumar too has affirmed that Farah is ‘bossy’ and a significant number of men are panicked of her.

Though the choreographer-director was confident about Kat, the actress wasn’t sure whether she will be able to pull off this sizzling number. The song, full on jhatka-matka, required Kat to move her body like Shakira and act like Madhuri Dixit.

As Kat is quoted as saying about dancing to Sheila Ki Jawani, “I was getting cold feet and my hands were shaking.”

Who will believe this; Kat is incredible in the song, isn’t she!

Press Meet of Katrina Kaif for Tees Maar Khan

Press Meet of Katrina Kaif for Tees Maar Khan: It was chance to state 'Welcome' to that winsome jodi. Khiladi Kumar and Katrina Kaif, that is. The pair was in town to support Farah Khan's "Tees Maar Khan". The Bollywood biggies stopped at a lounge rod for the press gathering on Saturday and the people was energetic to get a piece of them.
When matters got crazy, Akshay took matters under control reporting, "Let the press meeting be over. We will then make time for photographers. " A murmur of a thank you later, Katrina was the first to encounter an issue.

Asked to give a peek into her character, the actor said, "If you see the recent promos, then you'll see that my character is much more than Sheila."

A mere mention of Sheila and Katrina was given her next question, the very fact that her "Sheila ki jawani" reminds one of Shakira. Before Katrina could answer that one, Akki congratulated the journo for having compared the two and not drawing parallels between "Sheila" and "Munni badnaam hui". Katrina answered, "This is a comparison I can only dream of. I consider it a huge achievement. But the credit goes to Farah for having given me steps that would suit me." She reminisced, "It was a challenge for me. This was my second song with Farah post-"Just chill". Her assistant, Geeta, taught me the steps as it was not possible for Farah to be with me during the practice sessions. I was literally shaking thinking whether or not I'd be able to meet her expectations. But when she saw me doing the steps, she simply praised me."

Akshay being synonymous with stunts, he was asked what kind of daredevil acts he carried out this time around. The actor referred to one of his dialogues where he is asked what should be done with a mob chasing him. "I say, 'Aise waqt pe sirf ek hi kaam karna chahiye... bhago.' So, there are no stunts here. Main sirf bhagta hoon (I just keep running)," he answered tongue firmly in cheek. The actor showed a presence of wit even when asked whether the pressure was on him to deliver because Farah had earlier delivered a hit with SRK. Akshay went on to say, "Farah is very bossy. Lots of men are scared of her. As far as pressure is concerned, it is not on me but on her." With fearless being a term associated with the film, one wanted to know how fearless he was to survive in Bollywood. The actor joked, "Fearless and shameless, you mean? Well, I've been here 22 years now. I hope to survive a few more years." And when it comes to hits, the actor clarified that he is not banking on his earlier hits with Katrina to sail them through this film. "My lady, Katrina, has put in a lot of effort in this film," he said, while Katrina added, "We have worked the hardest on this film."

So films apart would she be interested in television? To this, she remarked, "I would be, as soon as an English speaking show is offered to me." So she is yet to master Hindi, retorted one. And Akki got on the defensive with, "Six-seven years back when this lady came from London, she didn't know a word in Hindi. Today, she has achieved a lot." Finally then, when would this pretty lady achieve a trophy husband for her, one wondered out loud. "My marriage plans?" she asked in return. "These things cannot be planned," Katrina diplomatically put any further marital questions to rest.

Katrina Kaif's fans shouts 'We Love You Sheila'

Katrina Kaif's fans shouts 'We Love You Sheila': While promoting her film Tees Maar Khan in Delhi, Katrina Kaif was greeted with shouts of “we love you, Sheila” from her male fans.
Katrina and director Farah Khan were at the DLF Promenade Mall on Tuesday to inaugurate the Christmas Cheer Celebrations and also promote Tees Maar Khan by distributing the audio CDs of the film among the fans.

And the fans did leave Kat blushing with their loud shouts of “we love you Sheila”.

“It's always wonderful to come to Delhi. I love coming here and I think it is one of the best places in the world,” Katrina said. She was dressed casually in a white top and black jeans.

Katrina blew a flying kiss to a 40-foot-tall Xmas tree in the mall and the tree lit bright at the very moment she blew the kiss.

The Bollywood beauty even grooved to the beats of ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ with a few selected fans. Farah and Kat also gave away free CDs of TMK to exuberant fans.

The film is set to release on December 24.

Akshay Kumar: 'Tees Maar Khan' is a full funny movie

Akshay Kumar: 'Tees Maar Khan' is a full funny movie: Akshay Kumar really needs a hit (film) under his belt to keep his career graph from downward slide.

His safest bet is Tees Maar Khan, co-starring Katrina Kaif and slated to release on December 24. Given the fact that Farah Khan, its director, has had an impeccable success record at box office (her two films Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om have been big hits), Akshay is hoping that TMK would set the cash registers ringing. Moreover, being a Farah Khan film, it packs laughter galore for movie buffs.

Akshay plays a conman who manipulates people and situations to his advantage. The character has been given punchiest one-liners to mouth.

“This is a fun character, full of enjoyment. He is a conman and so there is a lot of mischief. The character is actually very shrewd. He always tries fooling people because he wants to make it big. He never does anything himself; he makes people do things for him. I haven’t done such a fun and frolic role for a long time,” Akshay is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Adding that TMK is a full-on comedy film, Akshay said he’s not against doing serious films. But it’s just that people don’t come to theatres to watch serious stuff anymore.

“If you ask me whether I would like to do a serious film, yes, I would love to do serious roles, serious characters. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. No one comes to see serious films. All look for fun films,” Akshay said.

This year, Akshay has had two releases: Khatta Meetha and Action Replayy. Both were flops. Akshay says though he’s not disheartened by flops, he does crave for a hit film.

Farah Khan makes fun of SRK in 'Tees Maar Khan'

Farah Khan makes fun of SRK in 'Tees Maar Khan': Shahrukh Khan and director Farah Khan have claimed that they are still good friends, but if we are to go by the latest news, their friendship is passe. It is reported that Farah has made fun of the actor in her latest film Tees Maar Khan.

Yes, Akshaye Khanna's role in Tees Maar Khan is said to be a replica of Shahrukh's real life. In the film, Akshaye goes to London often for terrible backache treatment. He also talks about showing off his six-packs and going topless in film.

As if that's not enough, he makes an international filmmaker wait for six hours and turned his offer down in the end. The film went on to win Oscars, leaving him with remorse. It may be recalled that Shahrukh turned down Danny Boyle's film Slumdog Millionaire, which won stole the show at the Oscars a few years ago.

Tees Maar Khan starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Akshaye Khanna is scheduled for release on Christmas day, December 24.
