Priyanka Chopra Ranbir Kapoor Scandal: no connenction with them: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra who has been romantically linked with all her co-stars, especially Akshay Kumar and Shahid Kapur off-screen, says she heaved a sigh of relief when the media did not do so with current heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor during the shooting of Anjaana Anjaani.

"Thankfully there was no link up and the media projected our friendship during the making of the film
in US in the right perspective. I said to myself...the media has improved," Priyanka said in an interview.

The 27-year-old actress said she had lot of pre-conceived notions about the Kapoor scion. "I had met him earlier through common friends and always thought he was the spoilt son of a rich father. But, as we got to know each other during the filming of Anjana Anjani, we discovered that we had lot in common and would talk a lot," she said.

However, breaking the ice was not easy, she said. "Initially, we would just stick to our work and go our separate ways after shots during the US schedule. As the shooting progressed, we spent a lot of time with each other and became friends," she said.

As an actor, Priyanka said, Ranbir kept her on her toes. "Even though, we are of the same age, I am senior to him professionally," she said.

Talking about the Sidharth Anand-directed film, Priyanka said, "Anjaana Anjaani is about two individuals who are trying to find luck in their life after several failed attempts to be successful in their careers and in love. Fed up, they both decide to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. However, both land up on the same bridge at the same time."

She said Anjaana Anjaani was her first love story but it was not a conventional one. "It's not comedy. There are lots of emotions involved. There are light moments as well. I have done Dostana and Mujhse Shadi Karogi which were romantic comedies. Love Story 2050 was a sci-fi," she said.

The film is described as all great love stories happen between strangers. Priyanka says she does not believe in love at first sight. "Love is too profound a word. At first sight, there can be attraction," she said.

About interacting with strangers, Priyanka said every person one meets is a stranger first. "I have no problem in talking to strangers. I am a friendly person and get along with everybody," she said.

On microblogging site Twitter and many celebrities like Imran Khan, Sonu Nigam quitting it, Priyanka said she was one of the first from Bollywood to tweet. "It is my virtual diary and find it a good interactive platform. I welcome criticism but block vulgar and personal comments," she added. The actress, who has acquired a tanned look after her vacation in Brazil, said she is going to Berlin in mid-October to shoot Don 2 with Shah Rukh Khan.

When asked about her foray into television with Khatron Ke Khiladi, Priyanka said the show was an experiment for her. "Khatron Ke Khiladi was an experiment. I used to enjoy Fear Factor. I got a lot of television offers. But, this one was suitable because I was required to spare only 20 days. I could take time out between completing a schedule of Saat Khoon Maaf and beginning promotions of Anjaana Anjaani before starting shooting for Don 2," she said.

When asked if she would agree to be a contestant on reality show, Priyanka said, "I have no courage to be a contestant."

Priyanka said Vishal Bharadwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf was her most ambitious film till date. "I play a character whose age spans 21 to 65 years," she added.

Apart from Don 2, she said she has recently signed Anurag Basu's Silence opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

Priyanka wore a green and red floral print salwar kameez with a floral embroidery dupatta loosely draped over her head during the aarti. She had a saffron tikka on her forehead and her palms were covered with the sticky paint usually used as tilak in the temples.

Ranbir wore a pistachio kurta and had a stubbled look.

The Anjaana Anjaani co-stars, accompanied by director Siddharth Anand, seemed to be having a good time even though surrounded by overwhelming number of people.

Priyanka gushed about her visit:

"Something I've been looking forward to the whole day... a visit to Lalbaugcha Raja. The atmosphere here is amazing and so are the crowds! Happy to have shared this with Ranbir and Sid, who were equally moved by the darshan," Priyanka told Mid-Day.

Ranbir Kapoor has emerged as one of Bollywood's most popular male star overseas and the recent success of Rajneeti has created a market opportunity for a world tour.

Ranbir has featured with Katrina Kaif in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rajneeti and Deepika Padukone in Bachna Ae Haseeno. He features with Priyanka Chopra in the forthcoming film Anjaana Anjaani due in theatres on September 24.

Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, besides having featured in recent films with Ranbir, are popular overseas in their own rights, with images that appeal to Indians abroad.

The organizers were keen to have Shahid Kapoor on board but Shahid said he will go only if tour dates don't conflict with the release of his father's directorial debut film Mausam.

The planned start date of tour will ensure that there is a large enough body of popular songs from Ranbir films on which the stars can perform.

The world tour will be Ranbir's first.

Produced by the Morani brothers, the 16 show tour will begin in the US followed by Canada and select cities in Europe. Later, it will continue to South Africa and other countries en route.

Priyanka, Ranbir disappeared from 'Anjaana Anjaani' set: Bonjour my blueberry cheesecakes! How do you do? I’m not exactly thrilled with this incessant baarish. After more than three days of constant downpour, I had hoped the clouds would take a break. But alas! I dread the thought of having to stay put in my penthouse for the rest of the week.

Before I digress any more on the weather woes, let’s get on to the natkhat nuggets from tinsel town.

For starters, Sher Lock Holmes wants to tell me about how Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor gave director Siddharth Raj Anand a scare while filming Anjaana Anjaani at Jean dry lake in the Nevada desert. Nah, they didn’t desert him in the registaan or the sukha lake, my dahlings.

Instead, they disappeared just before choreographer Ahmed Khan could call for action. Sher Lock bhai tells me that the two actors had seen some dirt bikes by the lake, and decided to indulge themselves. If that wasn’t enough, a few crew members also joined the lead stars on the other bikes.

Bechara Khan and Anand were on edge since the weather conditions were extreme and they had to wrap up the shoot before sunset.

At the insistence of Kapoor and Chopra, they also opted for a ride, albeit reluctantly, in the belief that they could get the actors to return to face the cameras soon.

Thank God for small mercies. The cast and crew were done with dirt biking just in time for Anand and Khan to resume shooting. Fortunately, they filmed the scheduled shots just before the sun went down. Phew!

Anjaana Anjaani Movie - The Music Review, Ranbir Priyanka's New Film: How can a love story not be musical in Bollywood? Our romantic films could be labelled shallow if song-less. Anjaana Anjaani director Siddharth Anand  has a hit track record with the musical album of his films and this time too he has put a lot of effort on it with the help of the composers Vishal-Shekhar who have also turned lyricists for some of the songs.

The promos of the film look promising, while some of the tracks have already hit the jack pot. Anjaana Anjaani songs are no different from the league, yet they are appealing.

First get to know Anjaana Anjaani through Anjaana Anjaani Ki Kahani, a foot-tapping number that carries a fun element with it, and the beats that can set your pulse racing. The Zara Zara Kiss Me sensuous crooner Monali Thakur is heard after a long time and the gal has again done a terrific job with the singer Nikhil D’Souza for the song. The number also has a distinct 70s disco feel to it. Enjoyable, yeah!

Bollywood hasn’t lost Lucky Ali yet. The singer with his unusual brogue style is back after a hiatus and belts out yet again a Ranbir Kapoor song. There is something elusive in Hairat which fascinates and gets you hooked to it. Naturally, one of the best in the album.

A song like this hits off instantly with the audience. Aas Pas Hai Khuda like other ‘Khuda’ songs will find a place in the playlist and since it is crooned by the one and only Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, there are no doubts about it. Shruti Pathak joins Rahat for the unplugged version of the song and like the original it is also soothing to the ears.

The simple and the sweet Tumse Hi Tumse by Shekhar Ravjiani is a song for all moods. Bring out the guitar and start playing; the tune is catchy.

Here comes the winner Tujhe Bhula Diya which can sweep one off their feet with its quasi folk, quasi pop feel. An amazing track in the voice of Mar Jawaan fame Shruti Pathak, Mohit Chauhan and Shekhar Ravjiani. If one would enjoy Shruti’s exotic lounge rendering in the beginning, Mohit will stir the emotions with the rest, while Shekhar leads the chorus and adds sheer drama to the song. Warning: you might get addicted to this number. The remix version plays with its lounge feel and what you get is a well-created remix.

I Feel Good in the sultry voice of Shilpa Rao and rock singer Vishal Dadlani strictly sticks to the ‘romantic’ theme of the album. The next with the same duo does not break the melodious flow. Anjaana Anjaani is intense and will sound more impressive once it comes alive on screen.

The Bollywood musicals have melodious soulful songs that stay with us year after year and we get back to listen to them whenever we feel like. The romantic songs of Anjaana Anjaani do have that elusive feel to it, especially the songs like Hairat and Tujhe Bhula Diya.
